Dream DIY Home Theater Room Design Video
I surprised my husband with this media room, inspired by HGTV designer Candice Olson. I did all the work on a DIY budget. Details: Panasonic AE3000U 1080P projector, Denon 1909 AV Receiver, Aperion 7.1 cherry speakers/SW, Stewart Firehawk 100″ screen, PS3, DirecTV HD DVR, Apple TV, VUDU, Slingbox HD Pro, Harmony 890 remote, BDI cherry cabinet. If you need reinforcement with the wife or SO, tell them American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, HGTV, Food Network all look amazing in 1080p. (With a Harmony remote, she can operate the theater too.) Please note: The lights were on for shooting this video, but not when we watch TV or movies.

@lestat34208 Only two people. It’s a screen, not a TV, so it’s lightweight. I mounted the 4 hanging screws on the wall. Then a (big male) friend helped me hang the screen.

What kind of speakers are you using and where do you keep you receiver? Also what is the name and brand of the new color wall? Looks Awesome!

i luv how theres not a bunch of cords hanging from the tv
it always makes the whole setup look really tacky and sloppy
@Assassin7456 35 ft. HDMI cable runs from the console under the floor to behind the back wall up to the projector.
wow, what a lucky guy. did you use any hdmi cables? how did you hide the cables?
What ikea cabinets are those and countertop? I’ve been searching and searching the ikea website and can’t find anything remotely close to what u have there for your little snack bar..thanks!
@damedus I spent about $5,000 on the decorating including snack bar, but not the sofa and shutters – already had those.
I wana build something like this for my room wich is made only for home theater but im still wondering how much was the budget for the decour? I have all the equipments i want in the room i just wana remodel it/paintjob so it dosent look like a cable mess lol and put some rug on the place then ill be happy
